The use of central positioning and large scale as narrative techniques continue on from the Royal Standard of Ur to this massive stele. Here, Naram-Sim leads his army over their trampled and dying enemies, closer to the gods above, with his horned helmet, the sign of a god-king in Akkadian culture.
