Like Khafra’s likeness, this statue of Menkaure and Khamerernebty was meant to last for eternity, with its solid back slab appending the two connecting figures in stride. Given the stark likeness between the two figures and the Queen’s embrace, we can assume that the sculptor was attempting to highlight the unity between the two.
