This Triptych would have been used by a priest for his own personal use during travel. In the upper panel, John the Baptist and the Virgin Mary intermediate for humanity’s Salvation (deësis). Below stand five apostles depicted with slender, straightened figures. In the upper panels of the outer leaves we see contrasting forms, with military saints displaying contrapposto; like The Virgin and Child Enthroned, roles and types of people may have been suggested with pose.
