This Psalter was likely made for the wife of King Edward II, and this particular image features Jesus Teaching in the Temple. Though the arrangement of scenes and the inclusion of a bas-de-page indicate French influence, the linear forms and lack of any shading or highlighting carry on the English manuscript illustration tradition. The soft, wavy lines in the hawking scene of the bas-de-page are echoed in the beards and hair of the men in the scene above.
